The Cilento National Park, which stretches over 180,000 hectares, has been inserted in the UNESCO list of humanity`s natural beauties. It is a genuine living habitat where natural species, geographical environment and man have lived for centuries in harmonious symbiosis.
Pivotal cradle of naturalistic and anthropological interchange in the Mediterranean basin, it houses a great variety of animal and vegetable species, due to the heterogeneity of the territory. Coastal, hilly, and mountainous landscapes follow each other, often showing vestiges of man`s ancient presence; among many of these are the Pertosa grottoes where shepherds used to shear their flocks, or the sculpture of the warrior of Antece on the Alburni rock.

Il Cilento fa la sua parte per ridurre l'impatto ambientale del turismo e per promuovere uno sviluppo sostenibile. Il Parco Nazionale del Cilento e Vallo di Diano è una delle più estese aree protette d’Europa, oltre 180 mila ettari e nel suo perimetro sono compresi 80 comuni. È stato definito il parco del faggio e del corallo perché abbraccia tutti gli ecosistemi, da quello montano a quello marino; si passa così dai pianori carsici dei monti Alburni e del M. Cervati, ammantati dai fitti boschi di faggio, fino alle formazioni coralline presenti nei fondali giada e turchese antistanti la costa tra Scario e punta degli Infreschi. Gli itinerari proposti, sono solo alcuni di quelli possibili ed attraversano ambienti come: la faggeta e la prateria d’altura, le cerrete, le distese di macchia mediterranea, i fiumi, le coste.
